Festival adds excitement and a lot of fun to life and entreating to God and Goddess makes us feel relief from all the negativity and anointed us with more vigors to fight with nightmares.
After embracing Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Kali is worshipped throughout INDIA. The festival coincides with Diwali(the pan-Indian festival of light).
Goddess Kali was born from the forehead of Goddess Durga. The word Kali has its roots in the Sanskrit word "KAAL", which means time as a changing aspect of nature that bring things to life or death. Goddess Kali is the most powerful form of shakti(female power).
On the new moon in the month of Karthik, the Goddess is worshipped, she is also known as Chaturbhuji kali, Chinnamasta, or Kaushiki and as Kapalini. She is most often represented as a strong fighting figure, with a necklace of heads, with her tongue hanging out, and the popular four-armed and the ten-armed Mahakali form is popular. She is worshipped using red hibiscus flowers and rice, lentils, and sweets.
Kali destroyed the demon called Raktabij, she was destroying every man who was coming in front of her, no God and Goddess could control her anger, and then the lord Shiva stops her by lying down in her path and when the Goddess realized whom she was standing she was calmed and shamed for standing on his husband.
The whole town gets light up during the puja, countless no. of devotes stood in long queues at Kalighat Temple and Dakhineshwar Temple in Kolkata, Kalikhetra in Bhubaneswar, Kamakhya temple in Guwahati, Tarapith in Birbhum to seek blessings of the Goddess.
People all over the around gets so busy in the celebration, the air gets thick with firecrackers pollution on account of Puja.
Celebrations empower us to cherish the things in life that truly matter, stresses of life to feel behind and we spent our time doing things we love with the people we love. But we should help those small token of happiness to those in need. We worship Goddess but we forget to value the poor ones who are really of the Shakti truly just with some little help.
